What They Left Out |
||
| A Christian friend
told me of some parents who were distressed that their children seemed to
have so little concern for the church. They never cursed before their
children nor lied to them. They did not drink alcohol. They minded their
own business and were never in trouble with civil authorities. So many bad
things they never did.
But investigation also showed they seldom knew where their children were or who were their friends. They did not pray at home. Worship services could be set aside for other things. They did not teach their children God's Word. Trivial matters were so important around their home. But not the church. My friend observed that what the parents did not do that was wrong was good as far as it went. But they neglected doing the good that was needed. How sad! |
