We Have Authority

Many observe what they call the Lord's Supper most any time they decide whether monthly, quarterly, even at weddings, funerals, etc. What the Scripture teaches seems to have no influence on them whatsoever.

The early church observed the Lord's Supper on the first day of the week (Acts 20:7). Since we are to have God's authority for what we do (Col. 3:17), and this is the only day of which read of the observance of the Lord's Supper, when we partake of it every first day of the week we have God's authority.

Those who do otherwise are at a loss to present God's authority for what they do. Does it matter? Who is so presumptuous to contend God's authority is optional? When we respect Scripture, we will not add to or go beyond what is authorized by the Lord.
