The Way They Were |
||
| Paul described the
condition of the Gentiles because they denied God in Romans chapter one.
He then defined the condition of the Jews in chapter two who, even with
the Mosaic Law, were spiritual condemned. He says in chapter three, verse
9, "that they are all under sin."
From there he proceeds to describe both Jew and Gentile in their heart but also their behavior (Romans 3: 10-18). This is the way they were. How they were then does not concern me like the similarity I see in our own time with people today. Do not these verses describe what seems to flare all around us? We know how God considered them. Are we to think God thinks differently of people today who are like the way they were? |
