There is Still a Lot of Truth in Job

While recently restudying the book of Job, I was again impressed how far were Job's friends and Elihu from understanding the plight of Job. They all agreed Job had sinned and was getting his just desserts. They contended if only Job would confess his wrongs things would get better for him.

Of course, Job's hardships were not because of his sins but he was being tested. He was absolutely marvelous under fire, even though there were times when his frustration and pain seemed to get the better of him. But he never turned against God.

The speeches by his four visitors, while wrong on the reason Job suffered, contain many wonderful expressions of God's glory, His power and greatness. Many absolute truths regarding God and man are presented. There is so much truth in that book.

We do well to once again research the book of Job and learn the message of faithfulness God is teaching. We can learn more of the nature of God and His mighty works. We can even see the benefit of trials.
