That is the Way it Goes |

| Few things are more
disappointing to me than to preach a sermon, know there are those who are
present who should obey the gospel, but see those people remain where they
are seated and not respond to the call of salvation. Every preacher knows
what it is to experience this. We wonder why. There may be several
explanations but nothing justifies it.
But has it not always been that way? Sadly enough, such has been the response to the gospel since the days of Paul. In Acts 28: 24 when Paul preached the gospel to some who came to him in Rome, he persuaded them concerning Jesus both out of the law of Moses and the prophets. Sufficient evidence was presented without doubt. From morning to evening he taught them. How did they react to this inspired man's message? "And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not." Sounds like the same reaction so often seen today, doesn't it? |
