The Word Does Take Effect |

| In Romans Paul was
discussing how most of the physical Israelites rejected Christ. But that
was no indication of the ineffectiveness of the Word (Rom. 9:6). We are
saved by the Word. What some people fail to realize is that God made us
creatures with the power of choice to either receive or reject His Word.
The Word will separate sheep from goats; wheat from chaff. When someone
chooses to reject God's Word he rejects salvation. But that's his fault;
not a weakness of the Word.
The Word will not return unto God void (Isa. 55:11). The Word will save those who believe and obey. But it will not do the same for those who choose to disobey the Lord. The Word will condemn them. Just why it is that some must think they can shove God's Word out the door and all be well is beyond reason. But that seems to be the way of many. It is tragic because they could be saved from hell if they only would.
