Better Than a Vacation |
||
| Some of us have a
problem of not being able to throw away things when we no longer have use
for them. But then again we may be wiser than we at first might think. The
other day I tackled a task that has been hanging over me for literally
years; that of cleaning out boxes of written materials that I have
accumulated through the many years as a preacher. I preserved them because
I thought they were so good. I was right about it. But I have not used so
much of it because there was so much of it.
But going through it all I rediscovered so many good things I had saved. It was like a reunion with old friends. I have spent hours rereading those materials and have much more to go, thankfully. I had rather do that than take a vacation to the beach or mountains. It is so refreshing to once again take note of what was considered useful and to see how useful they still are. But this time I will probably pass these things along to others who I hope will be able to gain the benefits I have from them. Good vacation! |
