Preach What You Practice

We have all heard many times the admonition to "practice what you preach." One preacher said his mother practiced what he preached. We all should be practicing what preachers should be preaching.

How many would want the preacher to preach what we practice? Do you suppose the sermons might be different? Would you advise a preacher to preach what you do as if it is what God wants all to do?

If preachers preached what SOME practice he would approve of adultery, unfaithful attendance at worship, verbal abuse, jealousy and envy, gossip, and on and on could he admonish such behavior to be good. Would you really want him to do that?

Actually you do "preach" what you practice because what you do says as much or more than what you say. Would the world be better or worse if we all preached what we practice? Should we not practice what God says must be preached?
