Overdose

The word "overdose" is most generally associated today with those who use drugs and in their stupidity often take too much at one time, not only get "high" and irrational, but have been known to cause their own death. "Death from drug overdose" is the headline now and again.

We even read of people whose doctors have prescribed too much medicine for them and nearly killed them before they became aware they were actually being overdosed. Is it like, "Too much of a good thing" in this instance? Different from the dope-heads, this medicine is taken with the good intentions of assisting in having good health. But overdose it is!

There is a treatment for spiritual heart trouble where you can never get an overdose. The gospel of Christ needs to be absorbed in huge amounts. After all, it is the will of God for the benefit of man. Overdose is not known regarding the Bible but starving the soul is frequently the reality. We should study God's Word. We shall be judged by it the last day. You cannot get too much of it. But you can neglect it to your doom. Maybe we need a new word, "underdose."
