On Just One Page

While looking in the book of Proverbs for a certain passage, I just happened to notice several references aboput telling the truth. On just one page that presented chapter twelve and a few verses of chapter thirteen I found these words:

"The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips..." (12:13). "He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit." (12: 17). "The lip of truth shall be established forever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment." (12: 19). "Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight." (12: 21). "A righteous man hateth lying" but a wicked man is loathesome, and cometh to shame." (13: 5). These just happened to appear on ONE page.

Scripture is replete with warnings against lying. But many consider it a minor matter. Lying is so prominent in society that we have a difficult time discerning how much we hear is actually the truth. Read Rev. 21: 8.
