Faithfulness Matters

Most Bible students are familiar with Revelation 2: 10, "...be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee a crown of life." We have to begin our service to the Lord, but we have to be steadfast in that service even if it cost us our life. The crown cannot be ours if we fall away.

There are many examples of falling away in the Scriptures, Old and New Testaments. Christ warned the seven churches of Asia against doing that very thing lest they not keep saved. If they did not overcome, they would lose their gain.

The remedy for those who fall is repentance, turning around, changing the mind, being restored to the first love. Therefore it matters if and when a brother or sister drifts from the church and their service to the Lord. We have a duty to help them see the deadly path they have adopted and come back with a renewed determination that the will of God be done in their lives.

How much does faithfulness matter? It is the difference between spiritual life and spiritual death. That matters!
