Let Them Sink |
||
| Much of the three
and one half year earthly ministry of Christ was spent teaching the will
of the Father He had come to accomplish. Even the multitudes were amazed
at the things He did and said. As people wondered about Him, He advised
regarding what He taught, "Let these sayings sink down into your
ears..." (Luke 9: 44). In other words He was urging people to pay
attention to His message and conform to it.
So many times people hear the gospel of Christ but it makes almost no impression upon them. There are many reasons why this deplorable reaction is a reality. One reason is simply because some prefer to do their own will rather than the will of God and therefore give no heed to the divine instructions taught by Jesus. They shall pay dearly for this blinder. We should let His teaching penetrate our hearts and produce the fruit intended. What He taught is important and by His words we shall be judged (John 12: 48). |
