Kingdom and Church |
||
| The pre-millennial
theory teaches that the church is only a temporary substitute for the
failure or change of God's plan regarding the establishment of His
kingdom. The church is considered a secondary provision after the Jews
rejected Christ. That Christ was to establish the kingdom is well
documented in Scripture. It is also true the Jews, as a nation, rejected
Him, although not all did because the first church was composed of Jews.
It is true that Christ returned to heaven and will return. But when He returns it will not be to establish the kingdom He failed to establish His first trip. He succeeded in establishing the kingdom. It had its beginning the first Pentecost after His ascension (Acts 2). Next time upon His return He will come and deliver the kingdom to the Father (1 Cor. 15: 24). The kingdom and the church are not separate institutions. The church is the kingdom and the kingdom is the church. The pre-millennial theory is as false as a three dollar bill. |
