It Doesn't Belong to You |
||
| How deceived and
foolish many are when it comes to life. Some people actually think they
have a right to live life whatever way they choose. They don't. Possibly
we have become so obsessed with the concept of freedom that we really
believe like one song says, "It's my life, I'll live it the way I
want to." Today, we hear a lot about "do your own thing."
That is nothing but sinister vibrations from a deluded doctrine that our
lives belong to us and we ought to be free to live life whatever way we
see fit.
Our life came from God whether we acknowledge it or not. How so many "wise" men today try so desperately to escape their responsibility to God. They may think they can and do but they can't and won't. To live life according to our way is theft. We are stealing from God what God gave and what belongs to Him. We are obligated to live for God. If we do not recognize this and respond accordingly while we live we shall someday know the folly of our manners and condemnation shall ever rule over us. A workman was using an ax in cutting trees when its head fell into the water. The workman was frantic because he said it was borrowed. He was responsible for its proper use and safe keeping. God's prophet restored the ax head to the man but what about us and what we have borrowed from God- life itself? Will we be responsible and return it to Him? After all, it really does not belong to us. |
