It's No Worse Than...

You probably will not be surprised that some use the expression of our title to excuse something else that is wrong. For instance, I read an article written by a liberal who said many members failed to assemble on Lord's Day to partake of the Lord's Supper and said that was wrong. He is correct in saying that. But then he said something amazing.

He advocated it was all right to partake of the Lord's Supper on Thursday evening if you wished because that would be no worse than missing it on Lord's Day. Well, he is probably correct that it would be no worse but both would be wrong. Missing on Lord's Day does not grant authority for partaking of it on Thursday. Such absurd "reasoning" some use!

One sin certainly does not justify another. Somebody else's sin does not justify you to sin. How can people get so bogged down in such foolishness?

One has advocated choirs because when we sing not everybody sings anyway. You have to wonder what is in the space in their heads where their brains ordinarily would be.
