His Concern |
|
| "For he longed
after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that
he had been sick," (Philippians 2: 26). Paul was speaking of his
fellow-worker, Epaphroditus. Isn't it interesting that, even though he was
the one who had been sick, his main concern was for his brethren who would
be concerned for him? His sickness nearly cost him his life. That would
have caused sorrow to Paul and all other brethren.
As serious as was his illness, he was more concerned about his brethren than himself. Is this not a demonstration of an attitude that Christians have one toward the other? Christians love each other and consider the welfare of the other more important than their own. Fortunately, he recovered and Paul sent him to see the brethren in Philippi and they would be comforted. How heart-warming it is to read of such brotherly compassion and interest. Makes you glad you are a Christian, doesn't it? |
