He Is Successful

The devil conspires to lead people that have come to Christ to abandon their faith and hope. This is not a problem unique to our age. Second Timothy 4: 10 tells of Demas of whom Paul wrote, "Demas forsook me, having loved this present world." When Jesus dictated the book of Revelation and the letters to the seven churches, He said, "But this I have against thee, that thou didst leave thy first love. Remember therefore whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I come to thee, and will remove thy candlestick out of it place, except thou repent. (Rev. 2: 4, 5). That once great and strong church had drifted to the point of being disowned. This is tragic evidence of the devil's success.
