Exceptionally Good Guesswork

"That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid" (Isaiah 44:28).

Even while Judah still existed, even before Northern Israel fell before Assyria, even before Babylon was a power that overthrew Assyria, even before Babylon took Judah into captivity, even before Persia overthrew Babylon, even before Judah returned home after seventy years, God's prophet foretold the name of the man He would use to restore Judah and rebuild the temple. Cyrus, king of Persia, was his name. And he did it.

Even though Isaiah spoke hundreds of years prior to all that happened, he was precise and perfect in his forecast. Pretty good guesswork, don't you think? Wonder how he managed that?
