Did You Get It Right?

Those who heard Jesus say, "Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up," thought they got it. But they were terrible mistaken, were they not? (John 2: 19). He spoke of the temple of His body. Those who heard Jesus say to Peter regarding John, "If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?" (John 21: 23), thought He said John would not die. Did they get it right?

It is easy to "hear" something and not get it right, missing the words, misapplying them, assuming something, impugning motives, etc. about something that was never said at all. That causes so much strife and trouble among people. We should do everything in our power to make sure we get it right before we jump to some deranged conclusion.

Do you think you might "hear" something today and get it wrong? Should not we be sure we know what we think and not just guess?
