Coming Events

There is no lack of announcements about "coming events" in sports, business, entertainment, whatever. Also church bulletins advise of "coming events." This is to entice people to give them notice and be prepared. People take advantage of some of them and ignore others.

There are some events that are coming whether we want them or not; prepared for them or not. From this moment there will be life (of undetermined duration), death, the coming of Christ with the resurrection, judgment and entrance into eternity either in heaven or hell. Of these we have God's assurance that they will take place.

Our choice in the matter is whether we make preparation for these events. We can; in Christ. Otherwise, ready or not, here they come.
