Civil Law or Divine Law?

For the Christian the answer is plain. "We must obey God rather than men" (Acts 5:29). This becomes crucial in many matters, especially concerning marriage. Nobody is married acceptable before God who does not have the right to marry. Nobody is divorced before God except the cause be fornication regardless of what the civil law says about it. The edict of civil law is not the bottom line to determine the rights or duties regarding marriage before God.

Some mistakenly, and with militant divisiveness, insist innocent parties  have no right to remarry simply because some court says they have a divorce even in the absence of fornication. Until God accepts a divorce the parties are still married. Until fornication there is no divorce before God.

This hobby is causing strife among brethren. They do not accept just any "marriage" the state accepts, but they demand acceptance of a "divorce" the state may decree in spite of divine law demanding fornication. Such inconsistency should be exposed and repudiated.
